Transcript of Telephone Conversation between Charles Balis, M.D. and Ms. Anna Green, Thursday, October 16, 1997 at 3:54 pm.

Dr. Balis: This is Doctor Balis.
Ms. Green: Hello, Doctor Balis.
Dr. Balis: Anna? Aren't you supposed to be here in five minutes?
Ms. Green: Yeah, well, that's why I'm calling.
Dr. Balis: Is there something wrong?
Ms. Green: Not really. Well, yes, there is.
Dr. Balis: What is it?
Ms. Green: I'm okay. But Kathy's aunt is sick, and she had to go to Sacramento to take care of her. Martin and I are stuck covering for Kathy at the store.
Dr. Balis: I'm sorry to hear about Kathy's aunt.
Ms. Green: I think she'll be okay. Thank you, Doctor.
Dr. Balis: Why are covering for Kathy? Don't you have to go to work, too?
Ms. Green: Yes. I got to the office by seven in the morning. I was completely alone, the next person didn't arrive until ten. But the guy who owns the book store that Kathy works for threatened to fire her if she just left without finding a replacement. What a jerk! Kathy practically runs the store by herself, and he gets all the money. You'd think he would be as nice as could be when she needed to take a family emergency leave. I keep telling Kathy that she should just start her own business. All her customers would go with her anyway.
Dr. Balis: Are you at the store now?
Ms. Green: Yeah. I get to be an expert on dildos and lubricants for the next couple of days. Martin will be here soon as well--he is too worried to let me be in the store alone at night. I thought he'd be able to cover for me so that I could go to our session, but he called and said that he's running late.
Dr. Balis: How late are you open?
Ms. Green: I'll start throwing people out by ten.
Dr. Balis: Hmm. Does Martin worry about Kathy staying at the store so late?
Ms. Green: No, not really. She's been doing this for years; she knows how to take care of herself.
Dr. Balis: I see.
Ms. Green: I'm sorry that I didn't give you more of a notice, Doctor. But...
Dr. Balis: I understand, it's an emergency.
Ms. Green: Exactly. It's actually kind of interesting.
Dr. Balis: Working at an adult book store?
Ms. Green: That too. But I mean being with Martin. This is the first time after we made a commitment to live together that we would be staying by ourselves without Kathy.
Dr. Balis: That's true, although you did sort of live together even before you officially moved in.
Ms. Green: Somehow that's different. I could always go home then. But now...well, we'll see how it will work out.
Dr. Balis: Are you worried about something?
Ms. Green: No. I'm actually sort of looking forward to it.We won't have much time to get on each other's nerves at home since we will be working the whole time. Martin and I have to cover for Kathy the entire weekend. But there are things we could do here at the store.
Dr. Balis: Hmm?
Ms. Green: Never mind. I'm just looking around and thinking of possibilities to play after we close the store for the night. I guess it's the atmosphere of the place. Hold on, please. I'll be with you in a minute, sir. I'm on the phone. Doctor, I got to go. There are customers who need my attention. I'll see you next week. Okay?
Dr. Balis: Okay.
Ms. Green: Goodbye.
Dr. Balis: Goodbye, Anna.
