Dear Ms. Lough:

This probably isn't your average request, but I share your same last name and am doing a little family research.  Was first wondering how you pronounced your name.  Our family pronounces it "Law," which is obviously wrong, but I'm wondering whether this corruption was common.  Also, my family came west to Kansas via Nova Scotia, and the earliest name we know of is one Samuel Lough, who wound up in Kansas and then Denver--he was a theologian and Shakespeare scholar who wound up teaching at the Iliff Theological Seminary (now loosely conjoined with the University of Denver).      Any of this ring any bells?

    Sincerely,

    James Lough, Ph.D. jlough@prodigy.net
