I'm all for personal expression on the web. But that's why we offer links from the author's name to whatever they have up on the web that they feels represents them. That way, authors are free to make available as much personal information as they choose.
Some of the authors' web sites reveal quite a lot, too. Check out Mike Taylor's or Karen Geer's or Andrew Werby's for example.
But some authors prefer to labor in secrecy and work only under nom de plumes.
