Personally, I think L. Ron Hubbard was a quack-eccentric Howard Hughes wannabe, and I find it particularly amusing that a "religion" has been spawned from his ramblings.

I can tell you, Ann, that not one iota of this little rumor is true (at least as far as this site being related to Scientology); I'm sure you know all too well how easily such gossip spreads on the Net.

As for Scientologists being known for viciously attacking their critics, I'd say that generalization could be applied to just about any group, and the accusation would be equally exaggerated. Christians, Catholics, Vegetarians, Hell's Angels, Republicans, etc. are all hit by critics, and I'm sure their members return punches as hard as they're received.

And, really, I think you got a bit defensive yourself, Ann. Your question was answered by Christopher without any sarcasm, but when you read the **yawn** by Sharon, you took it upon yourself to shoot some nasty comments back at her, which is fine. You in turn critiqued her writing style and I'm sure she respects that. Do not, however, expect such critiques to go unchallenged. I'd be interested in reading your own character so that we know how to write a "good" one, but you might let us know which one is yours, as I'm eager to learn.

Mike
