In Response To: Favorite Writers (Beth)
I'd say the one writer who served as a catalyst for my desire was Edward Packard. He authored the very first Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book called, "The Cave of Time." I was in the fifth grade when I first read it; it had unlocked doors to my imagination I hadn't considered before. The choices given at the bottom of each page seemed compelling, further drawing me into the world of writing. Choose-your-own-adventure stories were ahead of their time, in my opinion. They were a lot like the web: flipping through "links" to other pages and possibilites.
