Glimpse of the man

While I enjoyed reading Rachel's last session, I thought the ending strained credibility. Dr. Balis has always been professional and ethical. He is also very perceptive of female patients attempts to seduce him. This is a common occupational hazard for therapists. Female patients frequently become attracted to their therapists (this is known as transference.) Dr. Balis goes to great lengths to avoid any appearance of impropriety.

I thought Psychiatrists would be wary of anything that might seem like inappropriate contact, especially involving a coquettish young girl. Maybe, since he is a fictional character he doesn't have to worry about lawsuits or having his license to practice revoked. ;)
