Don't knock the writers. The truth is therapy patients get to be trying after a while. They keep repeating the same dumb behaviors, which may be interesting when first encountered, when therapist and reader are still learning. Sticking with these people is hard work; that's why we pay psychiatrists well in the real world. Ok, the writers have burned out; they were asked to create irritating people. They did a good job of it.
