Did you get started on the medication?

Yes. But I have only taken one dose so far. I have
been very busy.

Was it last night or this morning?

Actually I took it at about 3 AM this morning. I came home
late and Tom was there. He asked me how our meeting went--I told him I was
going to see a therapist. He was trying to be so nice. The bastard!

Dr. Balis:

|
If you took the first dose at night, you can take another
one right now. Do you feel any effects so far?
|
|
|
|
|
Ms. Bows:
|
|
Tom got me very worked-up. I could not sleep. Then I
remembered the medication. I was able to fall asleep within about half hour
or so.
|
|
|
|
|
Dr. Balis:
|
|
That's good.
|
|
|
|

Ms. Bows:
|
|
Also I did not seem to have any dreams. Usually I am
an avid dreamer. But this time...
|
|
|
|
|
Dr. Balis:
|
|
That's okay. These types of medications have an adjustment
period. In the beginning, an individual might experience a variety of side-effects.
These vary greatly from one person to another. What's important is to know
what these side-effects are and whether they are acceptable for the time
being. After the initial reaction to the medication, the body gets used
to it and most of the side-effects go away.

Ms. Bows:

So I will dream again.

Dr. Balis:
|
|
I think so. I am interested in what else you might notice.
Are there any other changes physically or emotionally? Please take you medication
right now and I will try to get back in touch with you this afternoon. And
again, if you need to get hold of me for any reason, please call me. If
I am in a session and cannot speak to you right then, please leave a message
and I will get back to you as soon as possible. If it is an emergency, please
let my receptionist or answering service know.
